Jan 23, 2011 Single full-sized jumping Cholla out in the desert

Jan 22, 2011 I was reminded of an important lesson today. While walking in the desert, avoid these guys at all cost. They are a part of a plant known as a Jumping Cholla Cactus. Each of the balls you see is about 3 inches around, and sticks very easily to your pant leg or other exposed surface. Just be on the look out, and you'll be fine. Oh, I should add, I got about 4 of these on me today, which is why I was reminded of the lesson.

Feb 28, 2011 This is a very rare day in Arizona, especially Southern Arizona. This is the day that it snowed in the lower desert, something that happens about twice a decade, the last time being 4 years ago. I managed to get this shot, among others, before the snow all melted away (About 2 hours)
