I went out looking through the desert to find a few flowers, if any were left, to take some pictures of them, with a photographer friend. We happened to find a beautiful flower that hadn't yet rotted away, and even more to our delight, a bee was there, as well as another cool looking insect you can see in my almost daily photos, something that resembles a grasshopper that was clinging to the bottom side of a cactus (See http://pearsonartphoto.smugmug.com/gallery/8077136_NyPDu/1/531437880_xqp34). Quite a brave fellow. I borrowed my friend's 100mm macro lens, and got this shot, which I was delighted to see that the bee's eyes are in focus.
